Its August!

Sometimes I Feel Like I'm Going in Circles

Its August!
The last Friday of every month, I’ll post what’s up with my author journey so you don’t have to hear me whine the rest of the time. If you’re here for the travel and have no interest in thrillers, writing woes or adventures, then check back next week! Thanks.

Late summer, Book #2 Delays, and Author Nation.

It’s August! The weather here on the farm is beautiful, and we are waiting on the bees to finish their final harvest before winter so we can finish gathering the lavender. Even though a hint of fall is in the air here in the mountains, we’re still working through melons and watermelons from the patch in the orchard, and I’m about to can a ton of tomato sauce from the gazillion tomatoes in the greenhouse.

I’ve had an unexpected delay with Malevolent Intent, but I am working with a new editor to get Lee’s next adventure out as quickly as possible. I’ll be woring in my writing cave in Istanbul some as the work (and the noise level) on the farm increases for fall planning and planting of trees and shrubs, and of course, more lavender!

Lee’s third book has been outlined (no title yet), and I look forward to working on the first draft of that book as soon. But before then, The Expedient Wife, an international thriller set in Türkiye, and its sequel, Haystack (the working title) are scheduled for publication in 2026. If you enjoy learning about life in other countries while characters get themselves out of predicaments, then this series is for you.

It’s a busy fall and winter for me in Miami!

In November, I’m off to Las Vegas for a week to Author Nation, the big indie conference for readers and writers. Give me a shout if you plan to attend! I’m looking forward to seeing my writer friends and making new friends as well.

If you’ve been following along on social media, you’ve seen my favorite Malinois, Stitch. He’s been asking folks to buy my debut thriller, Forever Gone.

If you’re interested in being an ARC reader for the next three books in advance of publication, head over to the website and fill out the form. We provide you the completed manuscript in exchange for a review (while you read, we are proofing for publication and the handoff to the audio narrator).

We use BookSirens, BookSprout, and BookFunnel to send you ebooks. Malevolent Intent will also be on Net Galley, so there are lots of ways for you to read in advance. Don’t miss out!

And, of course, if you need an escape with a thriller, Forever Gone is sold everywhere online in ebook, paperback, and audiobook formats!

As for travel, last week’s post was on Tallinn, Estonia, and next week’s post will be on Riga, Latvia. I have more planned for Istanbul and my husband has a spring lineup scheduled for early 2026 in South America!

Lots of travel planned, so I need to get back to writing!

Tallinn, Estonia
As one person commented on an Instagram post, Estonia looks as if it is always ready for a Renaissance Fair. I can’t disagree.
