GOODBYE TÜRKIYE, HELLO MIAMI.

Aaaaand we’re back in the States! It always takes me a week to get through the jet lag, and this time the homesickness was just as bad. It isn’t easy to see all our furry friends, even though they are happy and healthy, so far away. The weather in Miami is fabulous, and life has picked up on this side of the world as usual, with friends being contacted for lunches and the dreaded annual dental visit.

BIG, NEW, EXCITING THING IN DECEMBER.

My marketing genie and I have been up to something. In November, we’ll tell you what the exciting news is. Stay tuned. Here’s a hint: 📚 🌐 🛒

AUTHOR NATION 2025 FAST APPROACHING.

I’m looking forward to attending Author Nation in Las Vegas in November, and if you follow me on Substack, you’ll see several posts from that event next month. Author Nation is a large conference for Indie writers, culminating in Reader Nation, where readers can meet their favorite authors in person. This will be my first time at this event, and I’m ready with a thousand questions for the speakers and the vendors about their anticipated advancements in the world of self-publishing.

MALEVOLENT INTENT PROGRESS.

I am in the final week of proofreading of Malevolent Intent, testing several digital applications to read the manuscript aloud, as my voice tends to falter around Chapter 10 when I read it myself. The digital voices are hilarious at times, and one never hesitates for a new paragraph. However, it does make it faster, and I still catch those little places where the sentences don’t sound quite right. We are a bit behind schedule with the publication of this manuscript, due to a six-week editorial delay that has put us behind. But thanks to our new editor, Barbara, we are back on track.

I hope you’ll enjoy reading Malevolent Intent. Vern has been ready to jump into the fray, tired of being on the sidelines!

CHARACTER REVEAL— LEE DANFORTH

This is how I see Lee. I’m curious as to how you see her. This is the only AI that we use in either writing or marketing, only because we have been unable to find an illustrator that does realistic people and not fantasy characters or other cartoon type figures. If you know of an illustrator, please send them my way! I like these illustrations, but they are a bit too perfect. Lee is almost 40 — she needs more lines on her face!

LEE DANFORTH, Attorney

Happy Reading!
