So what the heck is this about, anyway?

Or why I decided to live life a bit out of the ordinary and write about it.

So what the heck is this about, anyway?

One-half of my life is based in Miami. (Yeah, it’s a crazy place)

The other half? I live in Istanbul, Türkiye. Home.

The parts in between? The World.

I’m a writer who travels and wants to meet others online and in person. Connection in the world is what makes life interesting.

I take photos, lots of photos. I will include some of them here as I post. You can find the rest on my website if you’re interested.

You can talk with me on Threads, Instagram, Facebook (well, maybe), and TikTok. But that’s not travel. Or it is, but you don’t know why I went there, who I met, and what I discovered that was really (for me, anyway) unusual. You can come here or to my website for a much deeper dive. If you don’t care about the details, go to Instagram to see photos or Threads for a one-sentence (maybe two or three) chat.

Want to talk to me in detail? Send an email. If you call or text and I’m out in the world, good luck.

Posting / Benefits — It’s Free!

For this first year, you will hear from me monthly, on average, sometime around the first of each month. If something very cool occurs, then I will post more often. Initially, all subscriptions will be free. (Free is very cool, right?)

Who am I?

As a lawyer for thirty years, I worked in REO, mortgage default, and anything related to real property. Then, we owned a beachside house with three VRBO / AirBnB units. I am and will always be a real estate junkie. When wandering the world, I’ve always spent time looking at properties and buildings in every town or city.

Then—we sold everything and moved from our home of ten years. For six months, I explored the United States, hunting for a place to live where I felt at home. And I found it—in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Disclaimer:

I say exactly what I think. I always have. This site, my website, and all social media with my name and the names of my companies are solely my opinion. If you don’t like what I’ve said, feel free to send me an email. I’m not much into comments, so I’m turning that button to the off position.

Welcome! Glad to see you. Hope you decide to stick around.
